More like a 3.5 This place was recommended by a friend to have a very warm welcome and very personal experience my pet. With detailed explanation on exams, pet care, and pricing. Everything i wanted as a first time pet owner. This wasnt want i got. Reception was fantastic for both check in and out process. But I feel the VetTech and the doctor were trying to push me out and rush everything. No on was rude but the lobby wasnt busy so I surprised to see them rush me through the process, almost seemed like they didnt want me there kinda thing. The overall care given was generic but I wanted to go for a more personal experience as it was explained to me by my friend. Guess that must just depend on which VetTech and Doctor you get.

Urban Vet Care and Dr. Barone have taken outstanding care of my Demi dog for four years. After an unclear injury when she was two, we went through X-rays and several specialists without getting answers. Acupuncture was the only thing that brought her relief, which is offered at Urban Vet Care. During one of those early visits, Dr. Barone trusted her instincts, recognized that the issue was likely Demi’s back, and recommended moving forward with an MRI. Because Dr. Barone had been consistently thoughtful in her clinical judgment and conservative around costs, I felt confident moving forward. The MRI ultimately revealed herniated discs that Demi had been masking pain from. Urban Vet Care smoothly coordinated with the specialist hospital where Demi underwent surgery. Since then, Dr. Barone has remained closely engaged in Demi’s recovery—carefully managing pain, offering reassurance, and providing clear guidance on how to support healing at home. She has been kind and steady through some difficult visits. The entire team is patient and warm. They’ve laughed at Demi’s champion eating skills during acupuncture and never seemed annoyed on days when she needed an extra minute (or an extra can of food). The care here is measured, compassionate, and trustworthy. Demi is doing very well, and I’m deeply grateful for the care she’s received.

I feel extremely fortunate to have this clinic in the neighborhood, though I would travel much further to bring my dogs here. The front desk staff is helpful, friendly, and their love of pets is apparent. The technicians are wonderful and caring (shout out to Heather, especially). I'm a huge fan of Dr. Barone, who was a star for treating the late and great Davis, who had degenerative myelopathy and Dallas, who had kidney issues and arthritis. I'm bringing my new pups here with full confidence that they'll get amazing care, thoughtful explanations to care instruction and reasoning, and of course a dog loving staff!

I’ve been taking my dog, Truman (a big pit mix), to this vet for about two years now, and I couldn’t be happier. Everyone here is so kind, helpful, and genuinely caring. The doctor is always on time and takes the time to explain everything clearly. I really feel like they care about Truman’s health proactively, not just when something’s wrong. Highly recommend this clinic!
