I took in my cat recently because of a large mass growing on the side of her jaw. I paid extra to have her seen sooner, but it was definitely worth it. The staff were super friendly, and very clear on the treatment plan and the costs. Thank you Dr. Kong and all of the staff for a great experience!

DO NOT COME HERE. If you think your pet is having an emergency, I urge you to find another hospital. If you come here, I guarantee you will waste your time, receive unprofessional treatment, and run your wallet dry. I have a highly energetic 8-month old puppy who normally loves food. One day, he was unusually lethargic after not eating or drinking anything for nearly 24 hours. Fearing he had a stomach blockage from swallowing a foreign object (which he has done in the past), I took him to this "hospital". When I explained his symptoms, I was hoping to get a rational course of action from a medical professional. Instead, the "doctor" presented a list of options with no clear reasoning, some of which offering zero potential benefit and would only run up the bill. For example, in an attempt to rule out nausea as a root cause, the "doctor" asked if he was vomiting. After I said no, she recommended we administer anti-nausea fluids anyway ??? She even admitted that doing so could temporarily mask the issue without solving anything. Even when I refused this, they included it in the invoice anyway. That'll be $400 of course. Another thing. When they present the invoice, it contains every item you might possibly need– not just the ones that make sense to do first. All the procedures, treatments, and canned dog food (yes, 4 cans of dog food for $56), all at once. If you give me a list of the costs so I can make an informed decision, that's one thing. But don't give me an absurd bill of $2000 and ask me to sign. Why would I agree to the x-ray ($876) AND the "specialist consult" ($476) at the same time? Shouldn't we do the x-ray first, see if there's anything obvious in the radiographs, then decide what the next step is from there? By the way, "specialist consult" is short for "We can't interpret the results ourselves, so we need to send it to the actual experts. We're just the ones who take your money." I voiced these concerns aloud and began to feel a growing hostility from the technician. After considering everything– the inability of the doctor to prescribe action, the egregious costs and disregard for selective treatment, and the sour attitude of the person supposedly there to help my dog– I put the pen down and left the exam room. I signed only what was absolutely necessary, paid the $260 after-hours visit fee, and walked out feeling insulted and taken advantage of. This is a predatory business. Their customer base is deeply concerned pet owners urgently looking for help and the service they provide is highway robbery. P.S. If you're the receptionist reading this, I saw you surreptitiously pick up and throw away the toothpick that was left on the counter in the exam room (yes, the exam room). I don't know why anyone would consider it acceptable to leave that there, much less a medical "professional". You guys really need higher standards for yourselves. EDIT: Since I can’t reply to them directly, I’ll address a few points in this edit. Anti-nausea medication “masking” a foreign body - This is not a conclusion I came to on my own. This was explicitly said by YOUR doctor, which is why I found it absurd to have even been suggested. “Predatory” - Yes, your pricing is high, but that’s not what I’m referring to. It is the philosophy of your practice that I take issue with. An ethical animal hospital prioritizes the care of its patients, and does so with urgency and competence. ArchVet does not take that approach. In my time here, I did not once feel genuine concern for me or my pet– a sentiment that probably resonates with many who walk through your door. You seek to exploit distressed pet owners who are willing to pay anything to help their pet, and that, by definition, is predatory. The toothpick - This one is almost comical. I brought this up not to nitpick about your lack of cleanliness, but rather to point out a larger issue of poor attitude and unprofessionalism. Really now, who uses a toothpick and doesn’t immediately throw it away? I would NOT want that same person providing emergency care to my dog.

I would give negative 5 stars if I could. With the exception of the secretary at the front desk(Alberto) he was amazing and nice. But the female vet doctor and the male nurse i feel like was so unsure of everything they were saying. First they said they were going to give my puppy a certain medication to reverse what she might have ingested. Then when they came with the bill, that wasnt on there but 1700$ other charges were. One for nausea and she hadn't thrown up in the 2 hrs of her ingesting what she did or at all. So dont know why she needed that. Then they charged for fluids and a blood test...it felt to me as if they were padding the bill and knows we'll pay for it because its our baby girl. I also think this because we didnt know there clinic wasnt 24hrs they were an emergency vet so we thought they were 24hrs. Once we paid the nurse mentioned that there was another vet close by... I then asked, why are you mentioning that?Didn't she get everything she needed here?And isn't she good to go?... He then proceeded to tell me that they close at 10pm and that they recommended and that poison control recommended That she be watched for a few hours And up to twenty four hours because that's how long the substance would stay in her system. Mind you, they brought this up AFTER the fact when she was already in the back room, being given fluids, and everything else... it seemed shady AF that they did not mention that they weren't 24hrs knowing she needed extra monitoring... If they were recommending that she had to be continued to be watched they should have said they're right up front. Because why would we go to that vet And pay 1700$ and then have to go to a completely other vet to have her monitored... Also, if we go to another vet, they're gonna end up charging the after hours fee. And the consultation, because they have to do their own assessments... This vet i'm guessing knew that we would leave if they told us that and that's why they didn't say anything because they wanted are buisness. We drove over an hour to get there because thats the closest vet. If they knew right away that they couldn't handle ALL of zoeys care after the consultation or even before the consultation, when I explained everything that had happened they should have guided us to the vet That was actually open for 24hours. The money isnt the issue we'd pay whatever but its ridiculous for us to have to go to two different vet hospitals when it should have been handled at 1. This is why we will never be going to this vet again. The secretary was WONDERFUL But the rest of the staff seemed incompetent.

On Thanksgiving evening my family took our mini poodle to ARCHVET because she had a seizure. Luz, the receptionist was very kind & compassionate. Alberto, the vet tech was very understanding and showed compassion to my family and I during this difficult time. The vet Ms. Kong, not if I spelling her name correctly. She was very professional, examined our fur baby and made her assessment which in most part we took because we wanted her home with us. We knew our fur baby was in her last stage of life and all of the ARCHVET staff understood our concerns. My family and I were blessed that they we opened on Thanksgiving. The staff showed professionalism, compassion, understanding and support to my family.

It's nice having a kind, caring veterinarian in the neighborhood. The facilities are beautiful, and the location is convenient at the northeast corner of Pruneridge and Winchester. They are not quite open 24 hours, but they are pretty close. The prices are a bit higher than average, but I don't skimp on pet care.
