They used to be 5 stars until recently. I got my puppy (Mastiff) Christmas Eve 2024 and brought him to JVAH Jan 2025. They had been treating my other dogs since 2020/21 when we moved to that side of town. The vet recommended my puppy to be on Simparica Trio since it was an all in one preventive medication. She told me it was safe and that my other dogs could be on it as well, but had to wait until the 1yr shot injection was done before switching my others onto it. I thought everything was fine. I didn't realize I was neurologically killing my puppy. He went from being so sweet, gentle, goofy, full of energy. To being so aggressive. He would start attacking my dogs, and I mean blood bath attacks. But when I would break it up, he would be so confused afterwards. That truly broke my heart, he was still a puppy. I reached out to multiple behavioralist and was told he needed to stop Simparica Trio ASAP and that unfortunately, due to the escalation of his behavior, it was too late to detox him. That there was too much damage done. I contacted JVAH and told them I needed to stop everyone from being on Simparica Trio because my puppy has had a negative reaction. I had bought a years worth of supply for my other dogs. I was told, oh I am sorry, to send the unopen ones back and I would be refunded. That they were now using a new flea/tick preventative medication instead. I told them he had a negative reaction and no one called me to help my fur baby. I didn't give the next dose but the attacks became more aggressive and harder to separate. Still, he is in a confused state afterwards. He would go from full play mode to full attack mode. Like a switch was turned on. I had to make the hardest decision ever, I not only had to put down the puppy but also my other Mastiff. Because he too started showing signs of more aggression (he was abused, he was a rescue dog). He had started showing signs of finally trusting me after 5yrs and then I put him on that medication and he started to show signs as my puppy Mastiff. There would be no way I could separate two Mastiff's fighting aggressively. I called crying, Kimberely answered, she knew I was crying but acted as if I was an inconvenience to her, I told her, go ahead and put me on hold, she comes back and im trying to tell her I just put my two dogs down (she is the one I spoke to when I called and told her about the negative reaction my puppy had to the medication). I tell her my dogs names to remove from treatment and she is trying to rush me off the phone. OMG, are you serious. I call back later to see if she received the medication back, since I hadn't received confirmation back from her that she got it, even though I had it signed for and was alerted when it was delivered. She tells me she received it and that she will send me a refund invoice email back later that day. Nothing, then I did a follow up later on and the lady at the front desk was clueless as to what I was referencing, so she had to find out. Then was told it needed to go up to corporate since it was a large quantity being returned. Again, no follow up. Then finally a week later, I call to find out what was going on. Mind you, I already put down two of my dogs from that medication. Then I speak to Tammy and was told that, corporate will not allow for a refund and take it up with the manufacturer. I asked her how long had they known that, apparently a couple of days. No one called me with an update and still no one has reached out to give their condolences over the lost of my two dogs because of medication their vet prescribed and said was safe. Then Kimberly calls me and wants to know my address to send the Simparica Trio back. Are you freaking kidding me!!!!!!!!! My two dogs were put down because of that negligence on the vets part prescribing it (never telling me the dangers of that medication especially for a Mastiff breed) and to know if I contacted the manufacturer about a refund. They WERE my FAMILY and their lives mattered!!!!!! Still no apology from anyone.
