I cannot say enough good things about this vet clinic and its staff. I’ve never felt like I had a great vet experience until coming here! For the little things - great hours (weekends!), almost always answer when you call, and can get an appointment within 1-2 weeks, sometimes sooner. Front desk staff are always a pleasure, vet techs are caring, and the veterinarians themselves are phenomenal - knowledgeable, thorough, and compassionate. I’ve seen most of the vets here through the past several years for both my dog and cats and have had good experiences with all, Dr. Van Koot is my main vet and is wonderful. He’s helped me through a cancer diagnosis with my dog and end of life with my last cat and guided me compassionately through both of these awful times. He will sit down on the floor with your pet, putting them at ease and talks over everything and patiently explains it very clearly. I have often come in with a list of questions or concerns and he’s always happy to go through them. He even asks about my dog at my cat’s appointment (and vice versa). 10/10 human and vet. I’ve recommended several friends here and they have loved it as well. Prices are fair for the region - you can find cheaper with way worse quality of care, and anyone else more expensive simply isn’t as good. Take your pet here, you will not regret it.

Just over a week ago, I noticed our cat, Jynx, looked like she’d gotten bigger. I didn’t think much of it… figured maybe she’d just put on a little winter weight. A couple days later, I weighed her and compared it with last month. She’d gained 0.6 lbs, which is a lot for a cat who normally weighs 6.8. I feed all three of my cats the same amount twice a day, so I couldn’t understand how my other two (who are dieting) had lost weight while Jynx had gained. The next day, we noticed her struggling to use the litter box. After almost 48 hours without going to the bathroom and seeing her abdomen getting more and more swollen, we took her to an emergency vet. They did an ultrasound and told us she had closed pyometra, which is a uterine infection that’s fatal without emergency surgery. They quoted us just under $9,000 and told us flatly that if we couldn’t pay it that night, we should put her down instead. When I asked about other options, they made us feel like monsters for hesitating. The doctor said she wouldn’t make it to sunrise. I remember sitting there, holding her, being told to either hand over thousands of dollars we didn’t have or kill our cat before morning. They made the surgery sound simple. They said she’d bounce back “in like a day.” But when I took a few minutes to step outside and research it myself, I found out just how dangerous it really was. The survival rate for closed pyometra is only about 25–40%, compared to 85%+ for open cases. They never even bothered to mention that. I said we’re taking her home with us, I’m not giving up on her. That was Saturday night. We hoped to find someone else to help us before it was too late. Sunday was awful. She was growing more and more lethargic, still hadn’t gone to the bathroom, and her belly was expanding by the hour, it felt like. Somehow she still had an appetite, but I was terrified to feed her, deciding not to. If her uterus ruptured, it would mean a slow, toxic, painful death. I called and emailed every vet I could find. None were able to perform the surgery on Sunday. Very early Monday morning, a place called Gentle Touch Animal Hospital called back. They said they don’t usually do surgeries on Mondays, but because it was an emergency, they’d fit her in. I dropped her off right away. From the moment I walked in, it was completely different. They were calm, kind, and up front about literally everything. They ran bloodwork (which the ER didn’t do), and found her heart was under severe strain, and the surgeon said her white blood cell count was the highest he’d ever seen. He explained that the anesthesia could kill her, but without the surgery, she WOULD die. I told them to go ahead. Against all odds, she survived. Her temperature dropped dangerously low after surgery, but they kept her warm and monitored her until she stabilized. And they did everything for less than half the price of what the ER vet quoted. When we picked her up, she was groggy but still managed to slip out of her cone before we even left the parking lot, lol. Now, three days later, she’s eating, using the bathroom, and acting like herself again. Everything they removed weighed about 2.6 lbs!!! We’re just trying to keep her from jumping and climbing on everything while she heals. I’m so unbelievably grateful to Gentle Touch for saving her life and for her being such a tough little trooper.

Angel Touch Animal Hospital is truly a wonderful place! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and polite, making us feel right at home. The doctors were genuinely kind and caring. Their prices are very affordable, which was a huge relief for us as new pet owners. What stood out the most was how comfortable they made us feel. They took their time, answered all of our questions about our new puppy, and never made us feel rushed. They also provided us with a clear summary of the estimated costs for our upcoming appointments, which was incredibly helpful for planning our budget.

My boyfriend took our dog here about a year ago to get our dog checked up on because her fur has been thinning. The doctor walked in, didn't listen to my boyfriend’s concerns, said our dog was fine and that was that. No blood test, nothing (other than a $100 visit). Turns out she has extremely hypothyroidism - an issue we could have diagnosed a year ago and be treating her for if someone here had listened or cared.

Emily and Dr. Smith were wonderful! Went in today for a first time exam for my cat who’s been sneezing a lot lately, and Emily gave me all the information I needed to register myself with my cat’s microchip (never been offered that in 4 years since adopting her). Dr. Smith was very knowledgable, and it was clear he is a great clinician and not just trying to make money. I left with a free first exam and peace of mind knowing my cat didn’t need any treatment at this time. Great staff and docs!
