I’ve had ongoing issues with Roo regarding their tier ranking system. I’m a licensed veterinary technician with six years of experience, five of which have been in emergency medicine. Despite clearly meeting the requirements for Tier 3 or 4, I was inexplicably placed at Tier 1 with little to no explanation. When I reached out for clarification, I was given the run-around with conflicting information and no real answers. The representative I communicated with was consistently unprofessional and dismissive, showing no willingness to discuss, negotiate, or even consider my concerns. It’s incredibly disappointing to see a company that claims to support and value veterinary professionals treat experienced techs with such disregard and lack of transparency. I would not recommend Roo to anyone expecting fair evaluation or professional communication.

We all know that Veterinary Medicine can be hectic, and are severely understaffed with Doctors, but Roo has gone above and beyond to help my team and the thousands of pets my Hospital sees. I have had nothing but knowledgeable, qualified, and caring relief Doctors from Roo. The admin team has amazing lines of communication and make the request process very seamless. If you need a Dr to help cover shifts, I would recommend you look into using Roo.

Kat and the rest of the ROO team have always been extremely accommodating and helpful with any an all of my questions, issues and/or concerns that have presented themselves throughout the duration of being part of the ROO platform for Vet Med Relief Work. Not only have I always been treated with respect and kindness, but they have always been prompt with all responses to any of my correspondence no matter the context . In my experience, it is evident that they are truly happy to be able to help serve both you and the hospital in any capacity, and have no problems with going the extra mile to do so. Kudos for having such a lovely team of individuals to work with and for!!

Roo is a mixed bag of techs and veterinarians. Some vets they have offered have disciplinary actions on their licenses. Despite the company saying that they confirm experience, from the tech end, they do not. It is self evaluated and many of the level 3 and up techs do not have appropriate experience. I'm uncertain about vets except to say they don't do a license review. Regarding vets and techs, there are some doozies including a few that have last-minute no-showed and are not as qualified as implied. But, some of them are also good. For the good ones, if you're short-staffed, Roo may be worth it. I always talk to the DVMs before hand to see if they're a fit. I try looking the techs up on social media to gauge their backgrounds. Fees are what they are. Roo is better priced than RSVP. You definitely pay more then if you found help on your own but we all use agencies when we have trouble filling slots. When you get someone good it's worth it. When you don't it's very unfortunate. My biggest complaint would be that their background checks and experience verifications are not done well

Provided horrible doctors and technicians time and time again. When our clinic brought it to their attention they blamed us and banned us from the platform. The most recent doctor they sent us refused to read radiographs, work up an anemic dog, or even see a cat that thought it could of been bitten by a copperhead snake despite requesting our shift that clearly stated we do not turn patients away as we are an emergency clinic. They price gouge clinics only to underpay their relief doctors and techs. Horrible experience
