My little puppy Ziggy was hit by a car and almost died. I took him to the closest place which was Governor Animal Clinic. Ziggy was immediately taken to the back and sedated, pumped with pain medicine and cared for. Dr Rowe was amazing and kind. She had X-rays taken and other tests done to see if my Ziggy had a chance at surviving and operation. She did not charge me because she knew I was devastated. She had us go to the higher care hospital clinic in Sorrento Valley where they took over his care. Sadly, he made a turn to the worst and began showing a lot of neurological damage. In the end I had to say goodbye and hold him while he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Rowe called me the very next day and left a very heartfelt message letting me know I made the most humane decision for my baby boy. She didn't have to follow up, she wasn't even my dog's vet, but she did and that meant more than anything to me. If I end up getting another dog I will definitely choose her as the vet. She showed that it was more than just a business. I will be forever grateful to her for trying so hard to help rescue Ziggy.

We have been taking our dog to Governor Animal Clinic for over 5 years, because I live in the neighbor and it is very convenient. Our first vet was amazing, then he left. The new vet is good, but I have had a number of poor interactions with billing and front office people. Most recently I was quoted for a procedure $509 (other places were quoting me 300-400, but the convenience and knowing the vet, etc.). After the procedure I was billed $640. when I asked why? They said the prices increased over the new year, but no one bother to update me or my quote. So they honored the $509 price, like they did be a favor? Then today I had the same test done on my dog and they charge me $740 and when I asked why they said they added a charge for him to stay all day or over night. Mind you the dog was inside of the clinic less than 20 minutes, and the vet told us this is not a test you would keep them in the office for. When I told him we didnt do that he acted annoyed and went into the office and said they could refund me the difference and went back in to do something. 10 minutes later he came back out, never said oops sorry for the error or anything, just handed me a print out. The customer service was just terrible. The 30%+ increase is not cool. I will be looking for a new vet. and would not recommend this vet clinic to anyone.

Governor Animal Clinic is phenomenal. They are always willing to work with me to get my cat an appointment when he urgently needs it. They go above and beyond to assist with questions on the phone, and they are friendly and kind in office. Dr. Aimee Bains is my cat’s primary vet, and she always displays so much empathy, kindness, and respect. She always listens attentively to my concerns and gives me productive answers. I could not recommend this clinic and Dr. Bains enough!

If you are looking for a vet I would 1000% recommend Governor. The whole team at Governor is hands down the best. Always has been! They go above and beyond any vet office/team I have ever encountered. It's taken me a little extra time to be able to write this review as its been a rough time for us but I know I wanted to and needed to do it. We were clients before COVID but then switched to a closer to home vet because we needed to get our pups in for some shots at the time. Fast forward to March of this year, one of our pups was having some concerning issues and our current vet couldn't fit us in. I called Governor out of the blue with my concerns and they had us on the books and in the office in a few hours. I've said so many times over the last month that I am so glad I called and went to Governor again. From the first apt with Dr. Rowe I knew we made the right choice to come back. She and the team took very special care of our Penny until the very end. They were extremly kind, (Dr. Rowe would sit on the floor giving Penny love every single time we came in!), super helpful, called and checked on us throughout all of the testing and procedures we had to do. I could call and ask to talk to Dr. Rowe or get an appointment with no issues. Sadly we had to say goodbye to Penny on 3/31/25 but every single person we talked to or worked with were sooooo wonderful. One of the hardest days for my husband and I and we still felt taken care of and always knew Penny was in amazing hands. On top of it all, the day I went to pick up Penny's ashes from the office I came home to an arrangement of flowers that were delivered from the Governor team! So unexpected and thoughtful. They have a loyal family in us that will always bring our fur babies to them. I am so greatful for their office and team. I thank my lucky stars that a friend referred us years ago and we came back.

This clinic is amazing. We adopted a cat a year ago with some medical issues and Dr. Gardner and all the staff has been amazing. The vet techs are top notch and scheduling is always easy. The front desk staff is quick to return messages and address any concerns we have. Everything is always communicated very well. I know she is in great hands when she has had to be left for procedures and testing. They even have a cardiologist who comes to the clinic when needed. The clinic is clean and parking is a breeze. Thanks everyone for taking such good care of our cat Stuffing!
