This veterinary hospital took my 1 month old husky when she was attacked. Some places wouldn’t help her because she is only 4 weeks old, but they did. They took care of her surgery and got her to me safely and healthy. I would recommend bringing your furbaby to them, very trustworthy and supportive, explain everything to you in detail. Very happy that they took care of my furbaby.

I’ve never in all my life have left a bad review on a business. However I feel like I’m inclined to now. I brought my baby chi for emergency help because she had some type of sickness. This vet charged me $660 just to take quick VITALS. They made it seem like they would run urgent tests, but I know now that wasn’t the case. My baby was dying and I waiting until 2am just to be given a $5200 estimate for her care. Not only did the staff show no empathy but the doctor couldn’t give me any answers as to what was affecting her health. In the end, I had to take her home with 1 saline bag I had to pay $200 for. After getting home, 20 min later my baby passed away in my arms. DO NOT go to this vet if you’re trying to get help for your pet because all they’ll do is suck every last penny from you. RIP Lola💔

I went in at 12:30 in the morning last night to euthanize my senior chihuahua unfortunately, and the staff was alright I would expect more care honestly. Not sure if the front desk lady was new or something but I came in for him and she gave me paperwork to fill out when she handed it to me told me there was two forms one in the back. I ended up forgetting to fill out the second form I had alot going on in my head I was still mentally preparing to say bye to my pup, I was very frazzled. Mind you I’m young too this was my first time doing something like this alone, I accidentally forgot to fill out the second form which had like two questions. When I brought the forms up she said nothing she took the first form then pointed to the second like I was dumb. I apologized and said Oh my goodness I am so sorry and she responded with nothing. It took one extra second to answer the second form I stood in front of the front desk filling it out that’s how quick it was. I dealt with two nurses and a doctor who actually put him to sleep. The first nurse who took him back for vitals was very sweet non judgmental however the other nurse and doctor were judging me. Because I have a bit of lip filler and when I cry they swell up (just like anyone lips swell up during crying) regardless if someone has lip filler or something done to their face during this period of time it should not be so important. I caught both of them looking at my lips and judging my face, I didn’t pay too much mind I was more focused on my dog but it’s unfortunate looking back. Besides that he passed very peacefully and calmly I’m glad he did, he was ready. And the doctor was helpful after he passed, I told him I was a bit worried about feeling my dog limp and he told me he would grab him from me after he passed and he did which I appreciate. Also I called the Buckeye location hours prior taking him in and the front desk wasn’t the nicest either, I’m not sure what’s going on with the front desks at these locations. Also euthanasia starts at $215 NOT $215 they add an emergency fee of $130 something so the total is around $400 without cremation…

If you want to pay $5,000 for your pet to be mistreated and mismanaged, then AVECC Peoria is the perfect place. I paid $5,000 for AVECC to overdose my dog on morphine, give her a feeding tube she did not need, and then to monitor her afterwards. I am extremely displeased with the service, quality of care, and communication. My dog was transferred to AVECC Peoria in August and I have been trying to resolve a dispute for approximately five months now. My dog Phoebe was transferred to AVECC after surgery for monitoring and I was told that she was recovering well, eating fine, alert, and playful. I was later informed that she was not eating, vomiting, and would need to stay another day. I was later informed that she had been overdosed on morphine and this was an oversight on multiple members of her care team and by multiple shifts (day and night). She then received an unnecessary feeding tube after days of being at AVECC, sick, although she was eating her food I prepared for her when I came to visit. The doctors had incorrect notes, listing allergies and conditions she did not have, left her (and sent her home) in a cone covered in vomit, and seemed to lack significant communication between shifts. When I first visited her, she was completely limp, unable to keep her head up, in a cone covered in dried vomit, and was peeing herself. This was during the time of the mismanagement of her pain medication. Poison control had to be contacted and I was informed that the morphine would take 24 hours to leave her system. Once on her intended dose, she was eating, ceased vomiting, and was much more alert. Once discharged, I was still charged for two days of “care”, no one went over discharge information with me, I was handed an envelope and a care package in the lobby, and felt rushed out. So rushed that they forgot to give me her medication and belongings and I had to turn around TWICE to retrieve them. After many phone calls, discussions with multiple doctors, and financial representatives, I was told that it is “unclear” that her prolonged stay, vomiting, and lack of appetite were a result of morphine overdose. Despite doing well before and after the morphine overdose, AVECC had insisted that I need to speak with a number of different people and have given me the run around for MONTHS. I have waited five months for this to be resolved and was told today (after AVECC has been speaking to their legal team and failing to return my calls) that I will still be financially responsible for two days of “care” because although I am displeased with the quality of care, “care was still received”. I highly suggest you find another animal hospital if you care about your pets and the care they receive.

Saying goodbye to our dog was one of the hardest things we've ever had to do. We were very nervous because we had a terrible experience at another veterinary office years ago when we had to put our cat down. Thankfully, AVECCC was completely different. From the moment we arrived, every staff member was kind, patient, compassionate, and treated both us and our dog with such respect. They gave us all the time we needed and made an incredibly painful experience as peaceful and comforting as possible. A few days later, we received a handwritten sympathy card signed by the staff. That simple act meant so much to our family and showed how much they truly care about the people and pets they serve. We are so grateful for the kindness and compassion everyone at AVECCC showed us. Thank you for helping us through such a difficult goodbye.
