As someone who has a background in animal rescue, i have worked closely with many vets. I love how thorough Dr Shirley is with her explanations, and she regularly allows space for any questions i have to make sure that i can understand exactly what we are talking about. Dr Shirley has been great about scheduling enough time with us to be sure that all the concerns we have are addressed and making sure we are comfortable with the costs of service before moving forward with any plans of action. It also helps that my dog who is very anxious at the vet, loves Dr Shirley and her assistant so much and is totally relaxed in the office with them, which is ultimately why i decided to switch her care to CityVet.

I cannot say enough good things about this vet office and Dr. Shirley. I have an anxious pitty and Dr. Shirley and her team took the time to get to know my dog and calm him down before giving him the best treatment possible! The pricing was transparent and so affordable and I am so happy to be establishing my dog’s permanent care here.

I just had one of the best veterinary experiences I’ve ever had. My dog has been dealing with gastrointestinal issues for over a week, and I was starting to feel helpless watching him in obvious discomfort. I had already been to my regular vet four times this week without getting clear direction or an effective treatment plan, so I decided to seek a second opinion. When I called CityVet, I spoke with Dr. Shirley, and her kindness and genuine concern immediately put me at ease. She was able to get us in within an hour and treated my dog with so much care and compassion. During the visit, she took the time to thoroughly explain his bloodwork and walked me through every step of the exam in a way that was clear and reassuring. Her warm, attentive approach made all the difference. She sent us home with medication and a clear follow-up plan, and for the first time all week, I feel a sense of relief and confidence that my dog is going to be okay. I’ll absolutely be making CityVet my regular veterinary clinic moving forward.

Huge thanks to Dr. Shirley and tech Chris for a successful first visit! We have had our ~5 year old bully mix rescue, Louie, for a little over a year, and past vet visits have been extremely stressful for all parties involved. Louie struggles with pressure/handling and exhibits fear-based aggression at the vet, so much so that our previous vet was visibly timid and unwilling to treat him without medication. The team at CityVet was extremely kind, upfront, patient, and worked in tandem with our trainer to set Louie up for success as much as possible. It is really important to us that our personal anxiety over “scary” behavior at the vet does not limit Louie getting the care that he needs, and we feel that the staff at CityVet are now part of our team! Louie still has a long way to go— and may never love the vet— but we are looking forward to continue working with staff to build trust and (hopefully) less stress for Louie (and us) in the exam room!

I was so scared that my baby stopped eating and wasn't doing well at all. We had passed the 24-hour mark of her not being herself. I called, and Chris answered. He took care of my worries and helped me make a decision by giving me an estimate of what it would cost just to check her, which helped me make the decision to go. And I thank God I went and got her seen. When I went in, I saw the tech. She was so sweet and gentle. I explained what happened, how I got her, and how much love we have for her, and they helped me calm down and find the help I needed for her. Dr. Elena Shirley was amazing; she helped with Tita, treated her like her own baby, and Tita even surprised her by being on her best behavior. She got an IV infusion, three shots to stop the infection, the nausea, and to avoid the pain. She gave her all the help and gave me all the comfort. I have never in my life experienced such care coming from a doctor. I will 1000% recommend it if you care for your fur baby at all. You have to go here and get them the care they deserve, better than the human doctors I have had the pleasure to meet, and I have good doctors, so that says a lot , Will be seeing them back soon to continue treatment and get her 100% good. Thank you again to Dr. Elena and the tech team that helped.
