I could not ask for a better Veterinarian in Dr. Andres. I have been coming here for 10 years and only get the absolute best service from Vet, Techs, and staff. Called for a same day appointment today and they fit us in. I drive all the way from Santa Rosa to see these guys. Angela was the vet tech today and the teamwork between the two were brilliant. 35 min door to door visit including eye exam, and treatment! Best part is, the staff and Doctors are extremely good with accommodating my very difficult Shiba. My very friendly GSDs are also clients of his and are allowed to be in the room for moral support. As a critical care nurse myself, I observe their professionalism and expert competency on each visit.

I took my dog in for an emergency visit and I’m going to be taking her here moving forward. The staff and the Veterinarian were all very professional and understanding. My dog received the treatment she needed, and I don’t feel like they were over charging. In fact, they gave discounted visits and they made it easy to schedule multiple visits in a short amount of time after work and weekends. They were also prompt with their updates and follow up information.

It's fine if you're in the neighborhood and it's outside the hours of your usual vet. The consultation isn't too bad ($140) but they charge $350 for a stool sample and $350 for blood work, while the SPCA usually charges under $200. Also, caution: I felt compelled to leave this review because they share (or maybe sell?) your email address to tons of affiliates, so expect a ton of spam. Pretty shady business practice.

10/10 veterinary office!! Dr. Andres and his team truly care about your pet. Having worked at various vet offices in San Francisco I can speak firsthand to the utmost care and honesty this medical office provides. Dr. Andres responded very quickly to my concern about my cat Cauliflower's infection that hadn't healed and got her in for a procedure the next morning. Urban Pet got me in for TWO different appointments on a last minute basis. It isn't easy to find this level of care as some places can be booked for weeks at a time. Thank you so much for taking care of my baby girl :)

We brought my dog in around 4pm after learning he had ingested some pills earlier in the day while being dog-sat. We clearly explained to the staff that it had been several hours since ingestion. Despite that, they decided to induce vomiting for both my dog and another dog that was with him “just in case,” even though only my dog was showing symptoms (dry gums). As expected, they recovered only 2 out of 20 pills — the rest had clearly already dissolved. The visit cost over $2,000 for both dogs, and then we were told to go to the emergency hospital because it was “an emergency” and they were closing soon. If the situation truly required emergency care and they knew they couldn’t handle it past 5pm, we should have been directed there immediately instead of going through unnecessary procedures and expenses. We took our dog to SF Animal Medical Center on Fillmore, where we received far better care, transparency, and communication. The overnight stay and full treatment there actually **cost less than what Urban Pet Hospital charged for one hour of care.** I later spoke with the doctor at Urban Pet to express my concerns — he said he used his “best judgment” and would look into a possible adjustment to the bill, but it’s now been over a month and I haven’t heard back. Thankfully, my dog is okay, but the experience was extremely disappointing. I hope the clinic improves transparency and judgment in urgent cases so other pet owners don’t have to go through the same frustration and unnecessary expense.
