I’ve been bringing my dog Leo to Amici Pet Hospital for about 18 months, and they are hands down the best vet experience we’ve had in San Diego. The reception team and vets are always friendly, patient, and incredibly thorough with Leo’s care. You can tell they truly love animals and take their work seriously. They are on the more expensive side, but the quality of care and peace of mind is absolutely worth it. If you want a vet that treats your pet like family and gives them top-level care, this is the place. So grateful we found Amici — and so is Leo. 🐾

I had an appointment with my bearded dragon, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Dr. Jake Hare was incredibly kind and gentle with her. He carefully examined her, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and recommended exactly the treatment she needed. What I appreciated the most was his honesty — he didn’t suggest any unnecessary procedures, only what was truly required for her condition. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about his patients and knows what he’s doing. Everything was top-notch — from the quality of care to the way he communicated with both me and my pet. Dr. Hare is truly a professional, and I’m so grateful that Brittany and I ended up in his hands. I highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Hare to anyone who wants compassionate and trustworthy care for their exotic pets. You and your animal will be in great hands!

I can’t believe I haven’t posted about this before, but my dog has been going here since she was a puppy and she’s seven years old now they treat her so amazing as a reactive dog and every single time I go I get stressed because I know it stresses her out but every single time I leave I’m just completely in awe of how amazing and fully cognizant they are of everybody’s stress stresses. I don’t deal too much with the doctors but when I have, it’s been amazing and they have taken such good care of my girl, but my biggest shout out is to the text and the front desk crew. I can’t even explain how many times they have bent over backwards to take care of my dog last second when they can. Beyond blessed with this as my dogs vet. It’s maybe a little pricier, but 500 million times with it

I brought three cats over the years to receive care here. My main concern is that you can’t get in to see a vet for quite some time, so if an emergent issue arises you are forced to go elsewhere. The final straw was that one of my cats appeared to have worms. I was out of town because my mom was in the hospital and I needed to be there for her. My roommate dropped off the stool sample. They responded with a recommendation to take the worm pill for both of my cats. That call occurred 1 year and 1 day since I last brought them into the clinic. The front desk staff were nice and hopeful that I’d be able to receive the pill that they recommended without having to bring them in. The vet denied to help me because it had been longer than one year since we last visited. 1 day longer than a year and I’m caring for my mom out of town as she is dying. The location is very convenient to where I live but I can’t bring myself to go back there after such heartless care for my cats and I.

We assisted our sweet paralyzed Chihuahua into greener and grassy fields to run again with our other pets who crossed the rainbow bridge. Amici allowed us the space of their break room in the back of their clinic fully fenced to lay with her and talk to her with our other dog - as long as we wanted... before helping her to ease her suffering taking away her pain and in a deep sleep before passing. This is the second pet we've had to say goodbye to in this State and Amici is who we want by our side through it, come hell or high water! They work around so many limitations and feel like family after so many years. It was a hectic Saturday and the end of their shift and they were so so patient and kind I can tell everyone who works there really truly loves animals and even cares about the humans that come with them. I cannot recommend them enough for a simple exams, routine procedures, or the end of life for your fur baby. 💙💙💙
