I can’t say enough wonderful things about Acorn Hill Animal Hospital in San Antonio. From the very first visit, they’ve been everything I hoped for in a veterinary clinic and more. I was fortunate to have them recommended to me when I was looking for a new vet for my dog, and from day one, they’ve treated us like family. Throughout my dog’s life, Acorn Hill provided exceptional care, whether it was routine check-ups, dental cleanings, or even surgery, their team was always professional, compassionate, and incredibly responsive. If my pup ever had an unexpected illness or issue, they always did their best to get us in quickly and address his needs right away. In Skylar’s senior years, when his health started to decline, Acorn Hill continued to be a source of support and guidance. They helped me understand his changing needs and were so patient and kind through it all. When the time came for my beloved dog to cross the rainbow bridge, they walked me through that heartbreaking process with such compassion and grace. I couldn’t have asked for a more caring team to be there during that difficult moment. I'm not one to write reviews, but this place deserves it. I know no one ever wants to think about putting down their precious pet, but Acorn Hill gave us the best case scenario in saying goodbye to our beloved Bailey. After two years of helping us treat her for terminal heart disease and kidney failure, it was time to let go. Everyone was so kind. They gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye. I wanted Bailey to experience the outdoors one last time, and they let us lay in their yard out back. The techs brought us blankets, clipped her fur to make keepsakes for us, and were so kind throughout the entire ordeal. Dr. Hartwig and her team are incredible. We ended up getting to let her pass outside, cuddled up in the arms of the people she loved most. I am so incredibly grateful to this clinic for giving Bailey they best care possible up until her last breath. Thank you so much for all that you do. If you're looking for a veterinarian that truly cares about your pet and YOU, look no further. Absolutely incredible staff here. Rest in paradise Bailey, you were the best girl. We love you so much.

We went to have a stray dog we had been caring for put to sleep. The staff was very helpful and kind. Making the appointment was quick and easy, they easy availability for us. The prices for the exam, the cremation and return of the remains was comparable and even slightly lower than most places. The staff was very kind and compassionate throughout the whole process. They had a quiet room set up with gentle music playing. They were very patient and gentle with her. Even though she wasn't our long term fur baby, they treated her with so much kindness. I would recommend them to anyone looking for end of life services for their pup.

This was the best vet experience I have ever had. They did a dental cleaning on my chihuahua and extracted a few loose teeth and my dog recovered so quickly and he wasn’t even nervous when we took him back for a second appointment. If i could rate this place 10 stars i would! The price was so reasonable and less than other clinics that I called and i truly loved every staff member that i interacted with here.
