We really like both the vet and nurse that we met with. They were both very caring and kind, and the vet took time to understand our concerns and answer questions. She seemed very knowledgeable and went above and beyond when diagnosing the problem and providing treatment options. We were provided with a very detailed estimate prior to treatment so there were no surprises, and the cost was in line with other vets we have been too. We will definitely be back to see her when we are New York and have any veterinary needs.

The whole staff is great! Very attentive, knowledgeable and caring. Clear and effective communicators. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Price! She is so Sweet towards my cat bijou. She’s understanding with how my cat is feeling and treats her like bijou could be her own pet and it’s just really comforting to see that. There are cheaper, veterinarian offices in the city but I continue to come to West Chelsea vet because of the excellent medical care they provide and the genuineness in the interactions I’ve had with the staff there. Thank you so much!

My sweet cat was not feeling well, and I just moved so I didn't know where to get really loving and supportive kitty care. I was also unable to take him in myself. My partner brought him in, and he was seen by Dr. Canales. I was on speakerphone as she discussed options, pricing, and follow up. Even though I couldn't be there, I felt so comforted and grateful that we chose this veterinary office. I am so pleased with her attention to detail, how kind and informative she is, and I'm grateful to have found the right place for both of my boys. I hope never to have an emergency situation again. I do look forward to continuing with follow up and preventative medical care. Thank you so much, Dr. Canales. You are a gem.

I want to share my heartbreaking experience to ensure other pet parents are fully informed. My beloved cat, Oreo, had diabetes. Before starting the medication Bexacat, her health was stable: ketone levels were normal, and she had no diarrhea. After starting the medication, Oreo's health rapidly deteriorated. She became lethargic and developed severe diarrhea. While my vet was aware and prescribed anti-diarrhea medication, I was never given a printed sheet explaining the potential side effects of Bexacat, which I later learned is a relatively new drug. Had I been aware of the risks, I would not have given it to her. The decline was severe. Her ketone levels rose, and her potassium dropped dangerously low. When I took her to the ER, I was told her levels made it too dangerous to administer insulin. Due to how sick she had become, I had to make the tragic decision to put Oreo to sleep. I am devastated and traumatized by this. I feel this situation could have been prevented if proper information had been provided. According to the FDA, veterinarians should give pet owners an information sheet on potential side effects. Please, pet parents: thoroughly research all new medications and consider seeking a second opinion before starting any new treatment for your pet.
