**Long Animal Hospital — Charlotte, NC** I was visiting from out of town and needed what should have been simple, routine care. Instead it turned into a nightmare. I genuinely don't know if it's incompetence or something else, but one thing is certain: they do not listen. One of my Pomeranians had developed a bad cough, so we brought her in along with one of our new puppies — a tiny thing, under two pounds. My husband dropped them off while I ran an errand. Before I left, I was clear: **do not do any rabies shots.** The puppy was already up to date on what he needed and had an appointment with our regular vet the following week. I only brought him in for an upset stomach, gassiness, and a weight check. I did not want to stress his little body with a bunch of shots all at once. While I was out, the vet got my husband on her side I assume and pushed hard about how "important" the shots were. I had already said no and asked to wait — but somehow, after I hung up in the office with them both. she convinced my husband, and they gave a tiny under-two-pound puppy a load of shots in one visit. A puppy who was scheduled to see his own vet days later. When I got back, the tech was literally still administering things, and I said, "No, please don't do that" — but it was already done. As for my coughing dog: the vet came out, said she "might" have allergies and some early trachea issues, and sent us off with Claritin. Three days later she was coughing up blood. Our regular vet found an infection — one that could have easily been caught and treated if anyone here had actually listened or looked closer. I won't be back, and I'd urge other pet owners to think twice and read my other review from years ago. They basically were negligent after some bloodwork was done and I didn’t know for quite some time my dog had thyroid issues. He withered away and died within a year

My cat Sebastian was not just a pet — he was part of our family. He was always with us, protected us, and loved us in a way that felt very special. One day he had a serious neck injury. I went to several clinics, and everywhere I was told he needed a $3,000–$4,000 surgery, and some even suggested euthanasia. Then I came to this clinic and met Dr. Richard E. Killough. He told me surgery was not necessary and treated my cat with simple care and antibiotics. Instead of pushing for expensive procedures, he focused on what my cat truly needed. The cost was a fraction of what other clinics quoted, and within a week the wound healed. He saved my cat. Sadly, later my cat became very sick with a different condition, and I had to make the hardest decision to let him go. The staff were incredibly kind. They stayed with me after closing, gave me time to say goodbye, and did not rush me. Later, instead of immediately sending a bill, they sent me a thoughtful card. That meant so much to me. This clinic is not driven by money — they truly care about your pet and want them to live and be well. I will always be grateful for their care, honesty, and compassion.

Long Animal Hospital has cared for all of my dogs for the last 8 yrs now. Unfortunately, I had to make a very hard decision on February 16th to let one of my fur babies go....one of the hardest decision Ive ever had to make. I watched my fur baby, Lightening, health decline very quickly and suddenly, and the week before we had to say goodbye, I was in the office with him almost every night that week. Dr. Gibson and his team, never made me feel like I was over reacting or a bother, and helped me and supported me as much as they could during this time. When it came time to say Goodbye, they made this process as gentle and loving as they could. From the receptionists, the nurses, and especially Dr. Gibson, they showed all of the passion, consideration, and understanding they could. I received a card in the mail from the staff expressing their condolences to Lightening. I truly believe they saw, felt, and understood how extremely heartbroken and painful this was for me. I will always appreciate the care that they showed to me and Lightening. And I would never choose another Veterinarian Hospital for my other 2 babies. As long as they are still with me, we will always choose Long for our dogs care. I want to say thank you to the entire team who helped us and shared their kind words and messages. 😪😪❤️❤️❤️

We have gone to Long for over 10 years and have never had anything other than a great experience. We love Dr. Foreman! She is always thorough and it is very evident that she is passionate about what she does and loves animals. Our dog had to be hospitalized a couple of times due to a chronic health condition and Dr. Foreman would go in and give her snuggles while she was hospitalized. Go see Dr. Foreman!
