If I could give them a MILLION stars, I would. I have quite a few guinea pigs, and I am so grateful to have them as our veterinary team. Here's what you need to know to prepare yourself before visiting- *Are you going to wait? Absolutely! It's a hospital. A hospital that sees the kind of patients that most animal hospitals WON'T see. Have you ever been to a people hospital where they took you right at the exact time they told you to arrive? Yea, me neither. A Little bit of patience won't kill you. *Is it going to be a long wait? Most likely a half hour or more. I've sat for over an hour on a couple of occasions. Bring a book and some snacks for you n your baby. But hey, if you're waiting, your baby is probably mostly ok. Your day could be aLOT worse. Someone sitting near you is DEFINITELY having a worse day than you, so be mindful of that. *Do these people- every single staff member, from the doctors, to the techs to the receptionists and assistants- care about your pets as if they were their own? YES. 1000x YES. *Do I have a favorite doctor? Yes! I absolutely love Dr. Davis- she has been so wonderful in caring for our sweet (and some sassy!) babies, but I have also seen Dr. Abete and Dr. Johnson on occasion, and would not hesitate to entrust them or any other doctor on staff with the care of my babies. *If you call them, freaking out because there is something wrong with your furry/feathered/scaled lil baby, will they see you ASAP?? YES!! A tech will immediately come out to take notes and bring your baby to the back so a doctor can get a look at the situation right away, and they take cases in order of necessity, not by looking at the schedule. And when it's your lil baby struggling, that is EXACTLY the kind of veterinarian you want. I have no problem at all hanging out in the waiting room for a while reading a book and giving my babies some snacks while we wait for a regular visit appointment, because I know that someone else sitting nearby or in one of the exam rooms is terrified that something has gone wrong with their lil critter, and the staff is focused on making sure that beloved pet is getting the best treatment they can. There have been many occasions where that terrified and anxious person is me, and I know there are people sitting there waiting longer than they want to, and while I do feel slightly bad about that, I am even more grateful to have a veterinary medical team that cares more about my pets and your pets than they care about our personal schedules. So when you are choosing a veterinary medical team for your family, you need to determine what's a bigger priority to you- an hour or so of your time? or some lil creature's life? It's totally OK to say that you want a vet's office that will get you in and out quickly- life is crazy busy and you have a lot on your plate. But if that is your priority, then Niles might not be for you. That being said, if you are a patient animal lover who understands that the interesting little creatures you're going to see in the waiting area sometimes have complex medical needs that take a bit longer than an appointment block in a computer anticipates, then I'll see you in the waiting room sometime! To the doctors and staff at Niles- Love you guys, thank you for all you do for our babies and we'll see ya in a week or so probably.. LOL

I took my dog to Niles Animal Hospital after he showed a loss of balance,hearing loss, and poor appetite. We didn’t have an appointment but they were able to squeeze us in due to the concern. The vets and veterinary techs here are very knowledgeable and compassionate. They prescribed him an antibiotic ear ointment which got him better in less than a week. I cant thank the staff here enough for what they do.

I would like to say that when Dr. Sakas was there he alone made this clinic 5 stars and wish that was the case. He was special and caring and a rock start vet! Now not so much. Although kind enough I don't have the same trust as I once did and the experiences recently felt very sloppy. I recently brought my Sun Conure in for a check up. I essentially share him with a friend where he now stays after rehoming him essentially. We both share responsibilities for him and still active in his well being. I have been bringing him to the clinic for 15 years and he got really sick after my last visit with kidney failure so my friend had to bring in and sign the paperwork. I called out of concern to try and find out what was going on to get updates and they treated me like a stranger and wouldn't give me any information since I didn't sign the consent and agree to pay the bill. Felt very much like the only concern was about money and having the bill covered and really was a BIG insult to me advocating and looking out for this beautiful being. Peter meaning Dr. Sakas would never allowed this to happen. The communication during the visits recently were very unclear and made a really stressful situation that much worse. The staff led us on to think it wasn't so bad and he was improving. Then finally when the vet actually spoke to us to euthanize Sammy she said she felt this was a good decision because he had lots going against him. If this was expressed to us hours prior we wouldn't have been tortured trying to figure out what we should do. I would not go back and sadly had to say goodbye and euthanize my dear Sammy. The vet who did assist with that was kind, but just felt very mislead during the entire visit which was over 4 hours long. Dr. Sakas I do not feel would be happy with how this clinic is now being run. It's hard to explain, but both myself and the friend who signed for my bird felt this same sentiment. Nobody "owns" a beautiful bird or being we are just caring for them and loving them and being denied information really sucked and hurt. Especially after their records should have showed me being the only one ever bringing him to the clinic in his 25 years. 20 years of caring for a bird and the 1 time someone else signed for Sammy because of money I was refused information and medical updates during his last hours and that is simply unacceptable and will never forget that.

They truly care about your pets here. They have always given the best care to our senior pup. Yes sometimes there is a long wait, but they are working so hard, and being thorough, and very patient and compassionate with some people who do not show them the same courtesy. If you want a vet office who cares about your pet as much as you do, there is no contest. This is the vet you want!

I am a little delayed with this review but I was very grateful and impressed with the amazing service my babies were given. Dr. Ziegler was very informative and caring with both of my guinea pigs. Jules the assistant was amazing as well and showed me how to administer meds and gave hay to my babies. I would definitely recommend coming here. Thank you Niles Animal Hospital staff!!
