The best vet practice in San Diego. All the staff has been amazing. We have a bully breed dog who is really fearful of the vet and we have been trying to work through that for years at other practices. Our trainer recommended coastview and it has been a great experience. They allow happy visits and actually try to work through the fearful issues our dog has. We just had his first actual check up and they worked on a sedation package that worked for him and it was the smoothest annual checkup we have ever had. We have a plan to keep building trust through happy visits and hopefully get him off sedation in the long term. Highly recommend this place!

CoastView is an outstanding veterinary clinic. 2 staff members are exceptional: Leanne and Ryan. Dr Lina is kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. She offers reassurance and guidance making every appt smooth and stress-free. This is not easy with 2 new puppies! She’s amazing with them and with us. We couldn’t imagine going anywhere else!

I cannot rave enough about the quality of care my cat received at this veterinary hospital and the people who work here!! I had gotten home from a trip and it was pretty apparent one of my cats was very sick. coastview was the second vet hospital I took him to and I felt that my cat and myself were beyond taken care of. Dr Komlosy is fantastic! He is very thorough in his thoughts and approach to care. He is also honest, kind, and patient when explaining this to you. The entire staff here has been fantastic! The front desk is organized and knowledgeable. The nurses and assistants are so welcoming and experienced! When going through the recommendations and pricing they are very clear about the breakdowns and I did not feel judged at all about the choices I was making for my cat. In conclusion my cat is doing so much better and he just and his second check up! I couldn’t be happier!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Coastview Veterinary Hospital, and especially Leanne and Dr. Roque. Our dog has been reactive and very fearful at the vet in the past, and because of that, vet visits have always been stressful for him and honestly for us too. Over the past few weeks, Leanne and Dr. Roque worked with us through intentional happy visits, taking the time to build trust, move at his pace, and prioritize his comfort above everything else. That level of care is rare. When we finally had our first official appointment, it went amazingly. Truly better than we could have imagined. They were gentle, patient, kind, and incredibly thoughtful in every step. There was no rushing, no forcing, no dismissal of his fear. Just calm, compassion, and genuine care. This is the first time we’ve ever felt that a veterinary team put this much effort into the emotional well-being and comfort of our scared boy. It meant the world to us to see him handled with such respect and understanding, and it completely changed how we feel about vet visits going forward. We are so grateful for Leanne’s warmth and consistency and for Dr. Roque’s gentle, empathetic approach. If you have a nervous or reactive pet, this is the place you want to be. They didn’t just do their jobs, they went above and beyond, and we will never forget it. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts 🤍🐾

I highly recommend Coast View vet on the SE corner of Clairemont and Balboa! It is a fear free clinic and the staff are both Friendly and Amazing and went Above and Beyond to diagnose and save the live of my newly adopted dog from the shelter. (A service for a visible problem that the first vet I went to didn’t detect.) My sweetheart of a dog would not be here today if not for the over the top wisdom and kindness of Dr. Stuart.
