Do yourself and your pet a favor: stay away. We were referred to this vet about 2½ years ago because a friend recommended Dr. Gray. Our first visit in 2024 was great—Dr. Gray was attentive and professional. Unfortunately, after that, Dr. Gray was never available, and we ended up seeing different vets each time. While they were polite, we never established any rapport. The front desk staff were consistently confused and disorganized, often making mistakes with our appointments. Thankfully, our dog Maya only needed routine checkups and shots—until recently. In November, Maya went in for her Bordetella shot. A few days later, the office called saying her Bordetella shot was due. After explaining she had just received it, they admitted they gave her a rabies shot by mistake. I was furious. While Maya was due for rabies in January, this error raised serious concerns about their competence. I emailed expressing my disappointment—never received a reply or apology. Then, around December 22, Maya suddenly started having accidents indoors, pooping everywhere. Concerned, we booked an appointment for 12/23 and mentioned recent diet changes (blueberries and yogurt). The vet found nothing wrong and suggested a fecal test. We dropped off the sample the same day and paid $92.03. They promised results the next day. We never heard back. I understood the holiday delay, but on 12/26, I called—front desk couldn’t find the test in their system. Later that day, a vet called saying Maya had roundworm and needed medication. They said they would prepare the medication and call us back to pick it up. We never heard back. At that point, I decided to seek a second opinion. The new vet examined Maya, ran a fecal test, and confirmed she had no roundworm—likely just an upset stomach from dairy. They also explained roundworm doesn’t disappear without treatment, meaning the first clinic’s diagnosis was completely wrong. This clinic gave the wrong shot, misdiagnosed my dog, and never apologized for their mistakes. Dr. Gray has retired, and the remaining staff seem disorganized and unreliable. What’s next—something major?

I’m so glad we found Dr Aranda! We tried her out based on the good reviews I read. My cat was sick, puking for three days and it wasn’t easy to identify what the issue was. We first went to another local vet and but I decided to get a second opinion. She resolved the issue in one visit and the office made several follow up calls in the following days to make sure he was feeling better. We’ll definitely be using Carmel Mountain Vet in the future!

I have taken my animals to Carmel Mountain Veterinarian Hospital for 20 years. There is no one that I trust more than Dr. Gray and her team. She has been the only provider for my cats, from kittens, stray cats, aging cats, and very sick cats as well as taken care of emergencies. Their support during stressful time of making the decision to put down the animal is phenomenal. This is the BEST of the BEST Veterinarian Care you could ever have for all of your pet needs. vet
