I recently visited VEG Emergency Veterinarian Hospital for my 4-month-old leopard tortoise, and I had an outstanding experience from start to finish. I was seen immediately upon arrival, and although there was a short wait before meeting with the veterinarian, the overall process was smooth and efficient. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Zachary Whitman, the exotics specialist, and he was exceptional. He was extremely gentle with my tortoise, incredibly knowledgeable, and took the time to thoroughly examine, diagnose, and explain everything in a way that made me feel confident and informed. He offered several possible reasons for the issue, asked thoughtful questions, and carefully narrowed things down to identify the main concern. His professionalism and thoroughness made him very trustworthy. I left feeling relieved, supported, and grateful for the level of care my tortoise received. I would absolutely return to VEG again if needed and highly recommend Dr. Whitman and the entire team for anyone seeking compassionate and expert emergency care for exotic pets.

I cannot recommend VEG White Plains enough. We brought in our nearly 15 year old cat after she collapsed suddenly and had been vomiting repeatedly. The first night was a Sunday and it was insanely busy. However the staff worked incredibly hard to make sure everyone was seen and attended to including when realizing their oxygen cages were full, calling other vets to help patients arrange to go to them if they needed oxygen care. Luckily our sweetie was ok and not as urgent as the other cases, and it was a long wait, but we understood. Seeing how hard everyone was working to help the animals warmed our hearts. A few days later Kitty was unwell once again, this time more seriously, and had to be hospitalized at VEG for fluids and liver treatment. For 26 hours an amazing and professional VEG team made it possible for my wife who works night shift to get a little sleep after having come with me in her scrubs after finishing her shift. They were exceedingly kind, attentive and caring. I felt they really wanted my cat to get better and I felt that they really did care. Over the course of the night, and with their dedicated treatment, our beloved Kitty improved and she is now at home and resting comfortably. I noticed other people there getting the same attentive and detailed care for their pets and themselves. Starting with Dr. Matthews on Sunday and then Dr. Baker, Dr. Rajak-Smith and Dr. Lindsley - this team of professionals are the ones you want to entrust with the care of your sick or injured pet. Special mention goes to our nurses Sandy and Lindsay and all of the vet techs and nurses who cared so much for Kitty. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Our first time at VEG, White Plains and I couldn’t have asked for better care of my Aussie Doodle who was in an emergency situation and needed immediate attention and care! My sweet boy is now home and after a day or so of rest is back to his old self!!! 🙏🐾💗 It was a bit of a ride for us, but if ever needed again I wouldn’t hesitate to jump in the car and go straight there. This is not my first visit to this place, and I am so grateful it’s just around the corner from my house. As the owner of two Cocker Spaniels, it gives me great peace of mind knowing that if anything happens to them, they will receive immediate and attentive care — just like they did these past three days when my little baby Vucky had a serious infection. The team did everything possible to find the origin of the problem. Every day, I received updates and a clear plan for the next steps. They truly take their responsibility seriously and are committed to resolving any issue with dedication and care. Took my dog there yesterday. It was first time here. Even though I didn’t get great news about my fur baby, this place was wonderful. The staff is so compassionate and so efficient.
