⚠️ unprofessional manager • Ghosted potential client • made up policies ⚠️ If I could give this place zero stars, I’d still feel like that was too generous. Montebello Veterinary Hospital really needs to stop calling itself a “walk-in only” clinic when, in reality, it’s more like a “whoever the manager feels like adding to the list before opening when she can” system. The staff told me to come early since they don’t take appointments. So, like a responsible pet owner, I showed up just before their posted opening time of 8:00 AM assuming there might be a line still because they did warn me about people coming super early which I understood and was okay with not being the first person there. Guess what I found? A sign saying they were already “at full capacity, and can’t do any more exams meaning they wouldn’t be taking anyone until after 1 PM and that was a maybe. Interesting, considering the place just opened for business at 8am but had around 7 names on a sign in sheet already. Turns out, the manager allows people to sign in before they even open meaning while everyone else is waiting for 8 AM like normal people who go based off the info provided online, she’s already has a list of seven names from folks who appeared before hours ( before 8:00am) Those seven were conveniently sitting in their cars, waiting to be called in like they had actual appointments. But sure, let’s keep calling it “walk-in only.”? Smart When I questioned this nonsense, the manager (who, by the way, might want to take a refresher on basic customer service) couldn’t show me this supposed policy anywhere not on the website, not on the door, not even in writing. She just got defensive and told me I could talk to the manager so I asked for them then she proceeded to say she is the manager? Funny, gave major attitude, and made it clear she didn’t want to be held accountable for her own made-up rules. She then stated she can “make room” for me later on (making an appointment for an estimated time around 1 obviously not Guaranteed) and that they would call me when I could get seen. Obviously, it never happened with the way she runs the facility because I never got a call from them. This is a small business so I assume the people who got to sign are more likely locals who go regularly and are aware of this and this was my first experience with this vet meaning I didn't know this is how it was ran so I went based off the info provided online and whatever was told to me the day before. The front desk staff were kind, and honestly, I feel bad for them because they’re stuck working under someone who clearly thinks fairness and professionalism are optional. I took my dog elsewhere that same day, got seen right away, and shocker the other clinic actually followed their own policies. If you value honesty, communication, or even basic organization, do yourself (and your pet) a favor skip this place. Unless, of course, you enjoy wasting your time and playing guessing games. And to the so-called manager maybe try posting your made-up “policies” or state “sign in sheet opens as early as 6am but doors open at 8am”?somewhere visible next time. You know, so people have the proper information before showing up. Wild concept, I know it’s called communication.

Horrible service my dog was in a lot of pain the vet suggested x rays and blood test to determine what is going on I paid $650 just for that and was told they’d take a day and would be sent out to me. I had gone there because my dogs vet was closed and needed immediate help the vet was rude and gave me an attitude once I had paid. I called the next day after what seemed like more than 20 calls they answered to say it takes two days if they would’ve had said that in the appointment I wouldn’t had paid for the blood exam and just take her elsewhere long story short it’s going to be a week tomorrow and I have received nothing.

Casillas Veterinary Hospital offers exceptional care for pets, though due to its popularity, be prepared for a long wait. First, the clinic does get very busy, which is a testament to the quality of care they provide. When you arrive, you’ll need to sign in on a list taped outside and wait to be called. This system can be a bit inconvenient, but once you are called, the level of service and attention your pet receives makes it worth your time. Recently, I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put my dog to sleep. The staff at Casillas Veterinary were incredibly compassionate and supportive throughout the entire process. They handled everything with the utmost care and sensitivity, which made a difficult situation a little more bearable. Despite the busy atmosphere and the waiting process, the staff’s dedication and compassion make this place truly special. I highly recommend Casillas Veterinary Hospital to anyone looking for a caring and professional veterinary clinic in the Montebello area. Another quick note is that parking can get a bit hectic, with only a few spots available inside a parking lot and street parking when available.

Idk why everyone is leaving super bad reviews. The wait is because it is a walk-up pet hospital. If you do not want to wait then make an appointment somewhere where they take appointments. Dr. Casillas helped my 6 year old cat with his UTI after he got blocked for the second time (which is very common with male cats) he recommended the PU surgery to help him feel relief and for me to no longer keep spending a bunch of money every time he got blocked(id rather pay for a $2,500 surgery to stop him from getting blocked again then to keep going back and paying $1100 every time he gets blocked). With PU surgeries costing up to $4000, this vet option was very cheap. Dr. Casillas was great at explaining everything wrong with him and exactly what they would do to my baby. He explained the entire procedure and kept him for over a week to make sure he went home doing okay. Now thanks to Dr. Casillas, my cat is no longer going to be blocked and is able to pee without problems. I don't know if you read this, but Milo and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts Dr. Casillas! (2months ago)
