The staff was very informative and helped us sign in our first time . The doctor was nice too I felt sorry for him because my dog did get a bit aggressive but he was still bale to check on my pooch . The one that did the best was a really nice Hispanic nurse . Curly hair and glasses I think he was able to give my dog his shot . He did it quickly and gently my pooch did not cry and actually was totally calm when he came in . My dog knows good energy any who great place I was able to see one of the staff cleaning the back area with a water hose . Super fun animal pictures . Gladly I will bring my pets here

I had such a positive experience here and am truly grateful for the kindness and care shown to both me and my cat. My cat has had a large lump on his arm for some time, and I came in feeling very anxious and worried. The staff took the time to examine him thoroughly and explained everything clearly and honestly. They reassured me that he is otherwise healthy and that the lump can be removed through a cosmetic surgery if we choose to move forward, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. When my cat became stressed and reactive during the visit, the team handled it with patience and compassion. Instead of forcing anything, they adjusted the plan and provided medication to help him relax for his next appointment so blood work can be done safely and calmly. I really appreciated that they prioritized his comfort and well-being. The estimates for blood work and surgery were clear, reasonable, and far more manageable than I expected, which was a huge relief. I never felt judged or rushed; just supported and listened to. This clinic truly cares about animals and their owners. I’m very thankful to have found them and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for compassionate, honest veterinary care.

It has taken a couple of months for me to be able to write this review because it involves my dog passing a few days after being seen by Dr. Cano at this LAVC office. I adopted a puppy (estimated 10 months) from the Downey SEAACA animal shelter on a Thursday evening. They were transparent that she had kennel cough, a common ailment in animal shelters. I adopted anyway because I figured the pup would have a much faster recovery in a home with personal attention. I noticed she was not improving and, in fact, getting way worse: extremely lethargic, not eating or drinking. She struggled to have energy to walk even a few feet. We took her to LAVC that Saturday and submitted the one page veterinary record we had from the shelter showing shots/treatment given by them. We needed a full check-up since it's a new adoption plus specific advice on her worsening condition and the the kennel cough. After examination, Dr. Cano stated tests showed nothing else wrong with her besides some liver numbers being slightly less than optimal and sent us home with expensive liver supplements. I also noticed the pup has been dewormed unnecessarily since she had just undergone that treatment a few days prior according to the vet record I had submitted. Dr. Cano also prescribed cough tablets even though pup was not really coughing (another sign that kennel cough has progressed to pneumonia I learned later). The following Tuesday evening we noticed labored breathing and we took her to an emergency animal hospital in Pasadena who immediately admitted her. Turns out she had full blown pneumonia. They did everything they could. We spent several thousands of dollars to try to save her (oxygen chamber, round the clock care) but the pneumonia was too advanced and she died that Thursday night. I want to stress that this is all in a week's time, and she had been seen by Dr. Cano at LAVC just 3 days prior to being admitted to the emergency hospital with an advanced case of pneumonia. The animal hospital in pasadena stated she was the sickest dog in their care at that time. I cannot know for sure whether there was negligence in LAVC not detecting the pneumonia just 3 days prior. If they did not have the facilities to treat that condition, I would have much preferred that they turn me away and send me to an animal hospital instead of treating her for things she did not need and sending me home with a $500 vet bill that made no difference to the actual condition that was about to kill her a few days later. My other healthy dog had previously seen Dr. Ramirez at LAVC for a limp and there was no issue with that appointment. My pup's condition improved with pain and inflammation meds, just as Dr. Ramirez predicted. Do with this information what you will. From this experience I deduce that the quality of treatment may vary depending on the vet that you get. Personally, I am gutted that this poor shelter pup, who we didn't even get to name, was sent home with me to die possibly because I may have chosen the wrong vet. I often wonder if she would have lived had I taken her somewhere else that Saturday. Would those extra days have given her little lungs a chance to fight? I'm so incredibly sad about the whole ordeal.

The staff at this establishment are incredibly rude and unprofessional. Despite my attempts to remain calm after they failed to assist me, I was met with rudeness and a lack of helpfulness. When I tried to contact them after the fact, the lady at the front desk quickly introduced herself and put me on hold without informing me that she would do so. She then left me waiting for 20 minutes. When I called back, she simply sent me to voicemail.

They saved my dog and I appreciate it. However they consistently try to charge you for services not needed and services you didn't ask for. I was told that they wanted $300 when I brought my dog in and I told the receptionist I only had $114 on me. She went to speak with the doctor about it. I was told that it would be okay. An hour later I was presented with a bill for $452 on top of what I had already paid and told that my dog was gonna die if I didn't pay the money because he needed the oxygen. Only to find out later because I was contesting the bill and what was originally told to me that they had taken my dog if the oxygen for about 30 minutes already. When I finally was able to get the funds to just pay them they put him back on the oxygen that was "keeping him alive" I ended up paying close to $650 for services and when we were about to leave the vet out us out the back room to "finish his vitals for discharge" only to have two more documents pushed into my face that my dog threw up once when we left and she wanted to give him a nausea shot. And recommended us to take him to their sister program which cost $3,000 a day for him to continue getting Oxygen. I decided not to pay them anymore money because it wasn't making sense to me. I took my dog home and he hasn't thrown up yet not has he had any breathing problem since. Not recommended you bring your pet here.
